The original: Spending a night in the Icehotel is a surreal experience and a memory for life.

The world's first and largest hotel built from snow and ice. Icehotel Winter has been reborn in a new interpretation every winter for the past three decades, each year with brand new art to experience. During an intense period in Jukkasjärvi in November and early December each year, the empty riverside space is transformed into a magnificent hotel made of ice and snow.

The Icehotel is both a hotel and an art gallery made of ice and snow and is therefore always changing. The Icehotel is rebuilt every year from natural ice from the Torne River. When the winter suites melt back into the river in spring, a part of the hotel remains, where you can stay overnight in the ice and snow even in summer.

Room:
Art Suite - Winter Hotel
All art suites are individually hand-carved in snow and ice by artists from all over the world. Available from December to April at the Icehotel Winter.

The artists were selected from over two hundred applicants from a wide range of disciplines and invited to design the suite in which you will sleep. Please note that the photos on this page show the room type and not necessarily the actual room.

The room has a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer skins and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. Instead of doors, the hotel rooms have curtains that you draw to give you and your company privacy.

Ice Rooms - Winter Hotel:
Standard room with ice decoration. Available December - April within the Icehotel in winter. The ice room has a classic design and maintains a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer skins and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. Instead of doors, the hotel rooms have curtains that you draw to give you and your company privacy.

Private changing room and storage room in the lobby by the river: In Riverside, the warm lobby next to the hotel, you will find shared changing rooms, toilets and saunas for men and women. In the morning, hot cranberry juice is served to all guests staying in the ice rooms and suites - a sauna session and a hot shower then await before breakfast. Your luggage will be stored in the luggage storage room before your overnight stay.

Kaamos - Superior
The 28 square metre Kaamos Superior rooms are furnished with natural materials in soft colours such as white, grey and brown. All superior rooms are at ground level with birch and spruce trees as direct neighbours. Wild flowers grow on the roof in summer. The rooms have a living area with armchair and a spacious bathroom.

Gastronomy: Arctic Cuisine
The Icehotel is ranked as the top restaurant in Kiruna and the third best restaurant in Swedish Lapland in the White Guide, Scandinavia's most comprehensive restaurant guide. The chefs add a cosmopolitan touch to local ingredients sourced from the region's rivers, mountains, marshes and forests. Here you can enjoy local dishes and unique drinks - all served on ice if you like.

The Icehotel has various restaurants. The Icehotel Restaurant is warm and traditionally furnished. A rich breakfast buffet is served here and for dinner you can choose a delicious dish made from local produce from the a la carte menu. A highlight is the ice menu, a 5-course menu where two courses are served on ice.

In The Veranda, a 12-course menu is prepared right in front of the guests.

The rustic Old Homestead restaurant has a special place in the hearts of the locals. There is also a museum in a log cabin dating back to 1768 and in winter a warm fire flickers in the fireplace, inviting you to linger in a cosy atmosphere.

The ice bar invites you to enjoy a cocktail or a glass of champagne - from a glass made of ice, of course. You can also try your hand at dancing on the ice dance floor later in the evening.

Snacks and drinks are also served in the lobby lounge.

A unique design retreat integrated into an old railway workshop built in 1902. Today it has been reborn as the northernmost [heliski] hut in the world - and is perhaps also the most stylish, but in any case a very unusual address in the far, remote north of Swedish Lapland.

"Malmbanan" (the iron ore line) runs through the area, right on the border between Sweden and Norway. This legendary railway line between Kiruna and Narvik has been transporting iron ore for over a hundred years. Bergvilla Niehku was built on the site of the line's old roundhouse, which was in operation from 1902 to 1923. The old semi-circular wall of the roundhouse runs through parts of the new building - a fascinating architectural feature and an important part of the history of the current hotel. Both the exterior and the interior have been inspired by the old roundhouse in combination with natural materials and colours as well as by the culture and traditions of the indigenous Sami people of the European Arctic.

In September 2019, the hotel won the prestigious UNESCO Prix Versailles for the best hotel interior in the world. UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation. The Prix Versailles focuses on commercial architecture, with the aim of highlighting the intersection between creation, art, culture and business. Niehku Mountain Villa is proud to have collaborated with architects Krook & Tjäder and interior designer Stylt Trampoli to create a unique design retreat.

Room:
Niehku Mountain Lodge has 13 double/twin rooms of 23 square metres and one suite of 44 square metres. The beds are Hästens beds of the highest quality.

Each room has a WC/bathroom with exclusive shower systems. In addition to generous wardrobe space, each room has a special wardrobe with an electric dryer with ventilation for wet clothes and ski boots.

The six rooms on the ground floor each have a small patio. The suite has a bedroom and a separate living room with sofas and large glass windows.

Culinary delights:
The Niehku Mountain Villa offers outstanding Nordic cuisine. Head chef Ragnar Martinsson has many years of experience from top Swedish restaurants.

At Niehku, he has created a unique, modern yet rustic way of presenting Arctic cuisine. He uses nature's best ingredients, local produce and the rich diversity of the seasons, with a focus on game and fish from the forests, mountains and lakes. This is combined with the best that Norway's neighbours have to offer. The border is less than 50 metres from the kitchen door and offers fantastic ingredients from the Atlantic.

Around 500 wines are stored in the wine cellar, carefully selected by co-founder Patrik "Strumpan" Strömsten, whose passion for wine can only be equalled by his love of skiing and the wilderness. As an independent wine importer, Patrik is the only person in Sweden to have won the "Sommelier of the Year" award twice.

One of the over one hundred year old grease pits of the old roundhouse has been transformed into a wine cellar with a glass ceiling, an original part of the restaurant floor! Experience the combination of extravagant design, fantastic flavours and excellent standards with a personal, relaxed and down-to-earth ambience.

Spa & Relax:
The relaxation area includes a large sauna, a separate massage room, a shower room and a relaxation room. The sauna has two glass walls with a beautiful view of the mountains. The relaxation room is finished in wood, clinker and stone, with a large sofa set and a view of the mountains.

Activities:

Experience the season in Lapland's Arctic Sweden in just three romantic log cabins by the river. The very private Arctic Retreat is located remotely in the deep forests of Lapland close to the Råne River and is the ideal starting point for exciting activities and cosy winter evenings, far away from civilisation.

The traditional log cabins, which are sheltered by large trees in winter, can only accommodate a limited number of people and thus ensure the utmost privacy. A very exclusive Lapland experience!

Arctic Retreat is a family-run business where you can enjoy a truly authentic experience with a very personalised service. The remote location creates an ideal environment for Northern Lights sightings and stargazing.

The Arctic Retreat is hidden deep in the forest in one of the most breathtaking locations in Swedish Lapland. The River Råne meanders around this tiny peninsula, and the Raven rapids thunder just a few hundred metres from the cabins. Apart from the lapping of the water, you can enjoy almost complete peace and tranquillity here.

Although it would be easy to stay by the fire all day and simply admire the view, it would be a shame not to experience all that this breathtaking area has to offer. In winter, this includes dog sledding, snowshoeing, hiking, snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing. If you are lucky enough to make a catch during a fishing adventure, the chef will even prepare your fish for your next meal! Back at camp, you can warm yourself by the fire, share stories of your day with other guests over a cup of coffee or warm up in the traditional Swedish sauna. It is also possible to stay at Arctic Retreat in spring, autumn or summer, where the location of the forests next to the river provides the perfect base for a range of activities on land or water, including canoeing, hiking and culinary experiences. The Arctic Retreat offers a truly authentic Swedish experience, working closely with the local community.

In summer, the small island turns into a real island in the water; when the snow melts, the River Råne wraps itself around the bay and transforms the frozen lake by the river, which is also used for ice skating in winter, into a perfect place for kayaking and fishing.

From September onwards, autumn signals the first opportunities to spot the Northern Lights, pick berries in colourful forests and the best fishing season.

Room:
The traditional wooden cabins all have floor-to-ceiling, north-facing windows, perfect for gazing out at the mesmerising Northern Lights. The open-plan living areas have a cosy living area with a fireplace, bathroom with shower and outside you have a private outdoor hot tub.

Log cabin 2 is one of the larger cabins and has a bunk bed with a double bed. Downstairs there is also a separate bedroom with bunk beds, so that family stays are possible here.

Gastronomy:
The small private restaurant Getronosan in the separate log cabin serves breakfast and dinner. The focus is on Swedish home cooking, using local produce such as fish, game, berries and mushrooms. There are also influences from Sami culture.

Aurora Safari Camp in the Arctic Circle is the first glamping accommodation in winter and is situated in an idyllic location by the Råne River, far away from civilisation. The photographer Fredrik Broman founded the Aurora Safari Camp, inspired by African bush camps. In such a camp you are very remote and yet comfortable. There was nothing like it here in the north. The camp can only be reached by snowmobile over the frozen river.

Jonas Gejke moved to Kenya in 1993 to work in various safari camps and lodges and to organise tours. Fredrik moved there in 1998, met Jonas Gejke and worked with Jonas for many years. They developed concepts and were inspired to develop a safari camp in their native Sweden. Fredrik started organising photo tours with guests in East Africa, returned and brought the concept to Swedish Lapland with guided photo tours. The timing was perfect, he built Aurora Safari Camp to complement the Arctic photo tour experience in 2013.

Now both Jonas and Fredrik have a home base in the Råne river valley in Swedish Lapland, from where travellers can enjoy perfect experiences in Arctic Sweden.

At the camp, you will be well looked after by an experienced team of tour guides to guarantee the best experiences during your stay in Swedish Lapland.

The camp is located in a very quiet spot by the River Råne, far away in the forest, away from artificial light, power grids and road networks. When the sky is clear, the stargazing is simply fantastic. The Milky Way is right above you and the Northern Lights couldn't be better to see. December and January are dark and mysterious, in February there is more snow and daylight is back. March is the beginning of "spring winter". Still cold, without snow and brighter days. Three different winters, you could say.

Aurora Safari Camp picks you up with comfortable cars/minibuses at Luleå airport or from another lodge here in the north and takes you to the reception for the camp. The last part of the journey to the camp is by snowmobile in the forest and on the frozen river. On arrival, you will be served warm drinks and then check into your tent room in the wilderness.

There are moose in the forest, but also red fox, reindeer, bears (which hibernate in winter), deer and many birds. Tracks and signs can often be found right on the doorstep. A winter holiday here is a memory for a lifetime.

If you wish, the camp can be booked on an exclusive basis. Just for your friends/family/colleagues. During a camp stay, the guides are there to look after you and make sure you feel comfortable and/or active at all times.

Room:
There are 4 comfortable Lavvu rooms that can be set up as double, twin or family rooms. There are heaters in each lavvu to keep your room warm in extreme temperatures.

Gastronomy:
You can enjoy a drink by the fireplace in the lounge tent, where dinner for up to 14 people is also arranged and served. The open fireplace outside offers a marvellous view over the river.

Spa & Wellness:
The sauna on the raft is a wonderful experience. It is located on a raft frozen in the ice of the river and is a great place to spend the evening. Stargazing is great here, and there is always a chance of seeing the Northern Lights when the sky is clear.

The Treehotel is located about 100 kilometres from Luleå, in the village of Harads. Kent and Britta have created a true marvel here. Between the tall trees (at a height of approx. 4 - 6 metres) of the Swedish forests there are now 7 different tree houses. All of them were designed by well-known Scandinavian architects and each one is unique.

The Treehotel is committed to the environment and wants to minimise its impact on it. Sustainable concepts are therefore utilised.

Room:
All tree houses have cosy beds, camping toilet, electricity, underfloor heating, air conditioning, coffee machine, drinking water, fridge, wifi and a special water system for washing hands. Showers and sauna are available in the outbuilding.

The mirror cube:
The Mirrorcube is an exciting hiding place among the trees, camouflaged by mirrored walls that reflect their surroundings. The base consists of an aluminium frame around the tree trunk and the walls are clad with reflective glass.

Bird's nest:
The Bird's Nest is built on the contrasts between outside and inside.
The exterior of the tree room is nothing more than a gigantic bird's nest. It provides camouflage so that you quickly disappear and become part of the environment.

The Cabin
The location of this treeroom was based on the idea of creating a platform high up on a sharp slope overlooking the valley of the River Lule. From here, the hut can be reached via a horizontal bridge between the trees. There is a large wooden terrace at the front of the bridge.

7th Room
If you approach the seventh room from below and look up at the sky, the entire underside of the building is covered with a life-size photograph of the treetops as they looked before the room was erected. This ingenious camouflage arouses curiosity. What is hiding up there?

The UFO
While working on the bird's nest, which is largely in harmony with its surroundings, the idea arose to create a completely different environment. And what could be more different than a UFO?

Dragonfly
At 52 square metres and 22 tonnes, the Dragonfly is without doubt our largest room. Unique in many ways, this room can be used as both a conference room and a private suite.

The blue cone
The Blue Cone is based on simplicity and accessibility, both in terms of material and design. The space is a traditional wooden structure with three foundations in the floor to convey a sense of height and lightness, but also stability.

Gastronomy:
All meals are served in Britta's Pensionat, which is also featured in the well-known White Guide. Britta conjures up fantastic dishes from local and seasonal produce. The restaurant is an important part of becoming one with the spectacular Swedish nature. Nordic Cuisine offers local Swedish delicacies from the northern larder, be it game or the finest hand-picked berries. Sample the highest quality seasonal dishes and savour the creative simplicity of local produce. Arctic Bath is a unique hotel & spa which, depending on the season, floats on the Luleå River or lies on the frozen river.

The Hotel Arctic Bath is an oasis of wellness and design that seems to float on the water in the heart of Swedish Lapland.

Quite isolated and located under the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis, the Arctic Bath is a unique hotel and spa experience that invites guests to immerse themselves in the elements while leaving a minimal environmental footprint.

The idea of a floating sauna first came to Harads-based Per-Anders Eriksson when Treehotel opened in 2010. Initially, the vision was a glass cube on a raft. Bertil Hagström, who designed Treehotel's The Bird's Nest, took over the idea, and in 2013 he and Johan Kauppi designed the floating, circular building of the Arctic Bath.

A visual return to an old tradition: this extraordinary place is located south of the Arctic Circle and is a reminder of the importance of forests for the development of the entire country. The architecture blends seamlessly into the surrounding nature and is particularly influenced by the era of wood flowing.

The river Lule and its tributaries have long served as a transport route for timber, an old tradition in the north of the country. The construction of the circular main building, which floats on the Lule River, imitates the jamming of tree trunks in rapids, which was not all that unusual for timber transporters.

At Arctic Bath, each room has been carefully designed with a high level of comfort and luxury in mind, with an emphasis on overall wellbeing. Even though you'll be laying your head inside at night, the surrounding nature has been incorporated into the cabin rooms and suites. The 24m2 Water Cabin is connected to the land by a bridge and has a 57m2 terrace. The cabin is furnished with sustainable materials such as wood, stone, leather and fabrics in Scandinavian design. There is a wood-burning stove in the cabin and a bathroom with shower.

Cabin on land:
A 62 m2 cabin for 5 people, with a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop loft. The cabin is raised on stilts and is located on the shore amidst vegetation connected by walkways. The 8 m2 deck offers a place for meditation, morning coffee or simply relaxing. Includes: 5 beds, bathroom with bath and shower, air conditioning, minibar, spa bar, Wi-Fi, underfloor heating and pellet stove.

Suite in the country:
A 62 m2 suite cabin for 2 people, with a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop loft. The cabin is raised on stilts and is located on the shore amidst vegetation connected by walkways. The 8 m2 deck offers a place for meditation, morning coffee or simply relaxing. Includes: a wide double bed (180 cm), living room, bathroom with bath and shower, air conditioning, minibar, spa bar, Wi-Fi, underfloor heating and pellet stove.

Gastronomy:
The restaurant serves all meals and places a strong focus on local and seasonal produce. The Sami culture is also reflected in the cuisine.

Artic Bath, the restaurant offers a taste of the Arctic: local, pure and sustainable products set the tone for the evening in the Scandinavian-style restaurant. Meet up for dinner, have a drink in the bar area or relax in the lounge.

Ett Hem was a private house built in 1910. The people who built it had a penchant for beauty, and they left their mark on this townhouse, which is located in a quiet residential area of Stockholm. This current hotel is a highly individualised home for lovers of art, craftsmanship and Scandinavian aesthetics. Ett Hem today offers a collection of furniture, Scandinavian antiques and design.

With just 12 rooms, the small Hotel Ett Hem offers discerning guests comfortable interiors and rooms in a summery white light. A romantic courtyard garden is considered the city's little secret, the perfect place for a summer breakfast or a chilled bottle of wine at the end of the day.

The 23 - 29 square metre Deluxe rooms are located on the upper floor and have a separate living area with cosy armchairs and a desk. The rooms are furnished with Swedish materials such as oak, Gotland stone and sheepskins and have the typical cosy Ett Hem feel.

Junior suite:
Should you require larger accommodation, we can recommend the junior suites with four-poster beds, king-size beds and sumptuous marble-clad bathrooms. Some of them have a fireplace. In addition, two of the junior suites have balconies. 36 to 42 square metres in size.

Suite:
The wonderful suite in the Ett Hem has a size of 54 square metres and has a
four-poster bed and a dining area. There is a seating area

Bathroom has a special marble bath and the suite

Gastronomy:
The hotel's kitchen uses seasonal, local produce and the menu is often created the same morning. Let us surprise you!

Medium room:
The rooms are furnished in a modern classic look and each one has a personal touch. Each room is unique, but all rooms have wonderfully soft Xingjiang cotton bed linen and a minibar.

The Medium King rooms have a king-size bed, a spacious bathroom with bathtub and a living area with sofa or armchair.

X-Large double room:
This is our recommendation. These rooms are 70 sqm in size. The X-Large rooms have a king-size bed, a spacious sitting area and a large bathroom with shower and bath as well as a guest toilet. This room has a beautiful view over Stockholm and the Royal Palace.

Culinary delights:

The Dining Room serves an extensive breakfast buffet, as well as lunch and dinner. The cuisine is inspired by both fine French cuisine and traditional Swedish cuisine, with an emphasis on local and seasonal produce.

The hotel restaurant serves European cuisine ranging from snails and steak tartare to Sicilian fish.

Nobis Suite:
The Nobis Suite offers two beautiful rooms with original panels and stucco from the late 1800s and views of both Norrmalmstorg Square and one of the atriums. With furniture made from natural materials such as wool, wood, stone, leather, glass and fine Egyptian cotton linen and bedding, the Nobis Suite serves as an exclusive and private oasis in the city centre of Stockholm. The suite is 98 square metres in size, with the possibility of extending to 134 square metres with two connecting rooms. The Nobis Suite is equipped with a large four-poster bed, a separate dining table, a sitting area, a bathtub and a walk-in shower. Fresh fruit, fresh flowers and VIP entrance to the Café Opera nightclub are included in the price, as are breakfast in the room and transfers to or from the airport.

Bistro Nobis, also known as Bino, also offers delicious dishes with influences from all over the world. Bino is a small and cosy indoor area, but also has a nice outdoor seating area in summer.
