Today, the White Deer San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge presents itself as a unique luxury property with a lot of charm, which can be rented exclusively and only as a whole by two to a maximum of 10 guests. Up to 20 guests can dine in style or celebrate special occasions in the cosy parlour. The lodge also offers a fully equipped workroom with WiFi and a small home theatre.
The upper floor opens up with a splendidly arranged lounge area. Opulent relaxation areas tastefully arranged around the crackling fire of an open fireplace are the inviting entrance to the four individually designed bedrooms: three double bed suites and one room with two bunk beds, particularly popular with the children. In September 2012, the Barbini couple finally completed their revolutionary private golf course, where guests are sure to experience the most extraordinary golfing adventures of their lives: A hole in Heaven. A collaboration between the internationally renowned US golf designer Ron Kirby and the world-famous golf professional and entrepreneur Jack Nicklaus has resulted in an extraordinary golf course on the steep slopes of the lodge that is unrivalled in the entire Alpine region. This "Hole in Heaven" has been realised using state-of-the-art technology. The synthetic green, which resembles the famous "Valley of Sin" of the St.
Andrew Old Course in Scotland, extends over two levels with 9 flag positions. The course also has six teeing grounds, which are positioned at different heights and distances from the slope. With three different coloured flags, guests play an unforgettable 18 holes par 3, 1200 metres above everyday life.
The small, exquisite spa area on the upper floor offers a Finnish sauna - designed by Stefano himself and handcrafted from old wood from a neighbouring farm - a Turkish bath, a spacious whirlpool and an emotional shower made of warm natural stone. An experienced therapist and "vitality coach" is also available to guests on request for personalised treatments, which can also be carried out in the natural wellness oasis in the garden.
In the outdoor area, in addition to a stylishly arranged seating area and comfortable, elegant wooden loungers with blankets made from the finest cashmere, guests can also enjoy a spacious panoramic whirlpool with a unique view of the surrounding mountains, where they can savour the relaxing atmosphere and the magnificent scenery. As the gifted chef of the house, Giorgia conjures up unforgettable culinary delights with her love of good food using seasonal and local ingredients and traditional recipes from southern Italy, the Mediterranean and South Tyrol and is happy to introduce her guests to the secrets of her kitchen if they wish. The lodge's former goat shed has been transformed into a wine cellar. With 1500 bottles of local wines from 142 different winegrowers, Stefano's wine cellar is considered to be the world's best stocked wine cellar for South Tyrolean wines. The original wooden ceiling, the stone walls and the natural stone floor transform this place into a very special ambience for wine tastings. Stefano welcomes his guests here in the early evening to help them choose the right wines for dinner and spoils them with fine wines and exquisite cheeses.

From the very beginning, Giorgia and Stefano were enchanted by the charm and history of this ancient building and endeavoured to preserve as much of the original structure of the house as possible. Working closely with the Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, they endeavoured to preserve the characteristic elements of the house. The vaulted ceiling of the entrance hall is a rare example of the Alpine Renaissance, while the fine carving and inlay work on the massive antique doors and the historic old wooden beams that support almost all the rooms in the house are equally remarkable.
Where the old beams could no longer be saved, Giorgia and Stefano Barbini looked for historical wood from neighbouring farmers or used natural materials from the area. Spruce, larch, Swiss stone pine and natural stone were used. With the exception of a few exclusive, selected design pieces, the customised furnishings were made by local craftsmen according to the owners' designs, and with fine fabrics and textiles as well as numerous aesthetic details, the two stylish owners have created a home that immediately captivates every guest. A successful synthesis of absolute naturalness, authentic craftsmanship, charm and quiet elegance can be felt throughout the house.
The ecological sustainability of their project was another matter close to the couple's hearts: the property's water comes from their own spring, much of the food is supplied by local farmers and the entire building is heated by an ecologically efficient wood chip system using wood from their own forest, while a traditional brick oven and an open fireplace not only create a harmonious balance to the modern technology but also ensure an extremely cosy ambience in which every guest immediately feels at home.

In addition to four individually designed rooms for two to a maximum of 10 people, the lodge offers its guests a small fine spa, an elegant lounge with fireplace, a cosy parlour with adjoining tearoom, an outdoor whirlpool with a fantastic panorama, a fine wine cellar as well as its own helipad right next to the lodge and - since September 2012 - the only private golf course in the Alps to date, which is reserved exclusively for guests of the hotel.

In the beginning, however, there was a stately, historic building, half-ruined and enchanted, surrounded by lush meadows and forests, which the Barbini couple fell in love with. It took years of loving care and a thorough study of the architecture of historic Alpine buildings to bring the ancient listed chalet back to life and turn it into the gem it is today.

As in all mountains, the climate in the Dolomites is unpredictable. Even in summer, rain in the lower valleys means snow at higher altitudes! As in all mountains, the weather in the Dolomites can change unexpectedly and varies greatly between the individual valleys. From mid-June to August, daytime temperatures are pleasantly warm, with cool nights and occasional thunderstorms.
The climate table for the Dolomites shows mild temperatures of over 20°C in the summer months from May to September. However, the winter months are very cold. Temperatures fall well below 0°C from November to February with relatively heavy snowfall.
