Cape Weligama - Just 30 thirty minutes east of Galle, the 12-hectare luxury hotel Cape Weligama is located on a unique headland that rises 40 metres above the Indian Ocean.
Where the trade winds carried legendary explorers such as Marco Polo and Ibn Battuta past the towering southern cliffs of Sri Lanka on some of the most famous sea voyages in history, Cape Weligama has become the most famous holiday destination along the palm-fringed coast of this fabled island.
Room
A collection of villas and suites totalling 39 rooms create the welcoming illusion of a traditional Sri Lankan village. But beneath the local terracotta tiled roofs, stylish interiors unfold as generously proportioned contemporary living spaces ranging from 130m² to 310m², each surrounded by beautiful gardens.
The villas are set within eight stone-edged gardens in the upper part of the resort. Each garden consists of two to three detached villas and a 15 metre long swimming pool. The gardens are named after an important explorer or writer and the room categories differ mainly in size.

Gastronomy
The Cape Weligama cliffside resort is synonymous with numerous gastronomic experiences. The Ocean Terrace serves as the perfect location with a breathtaking view of the surrounding bay. Tableau Chef's Table serves a daily changing menu depending on the season and creates dishes that appeal to all the senses. The Surf Bar overlooks a pristine bay known for attracting experienced surfers from around the world. Fresh cocktails and snacks are served in a more relaxed atmosphere. Traditionally, the Cape Club prepares the Ceylon Afternoon Cream Tea with tasty canapes.
Wellness, Activities
A variety of activities await guests here and the word privacy is particularly important. The surrounding gardens offer plenty of space to relax on the private shaded terrace or take a dip in the pool. The crescent-shaped, infinity moon pool is not only an absolute design highlight, it meanders around the edge of the cape and offers sweeping, 270-degree blue views of the ocean and the surrounding cliffs.
Our highlight: a whale and dolphin watching tour on a private catamaran. Simply escape into another world with a view of the coast.
