After a relaxed and delicious breakfast, your journey takes you to Ipanema. You will embark on an approximately eight-hour private tour with your local, German-speaking guide. From there, you will travel through the Tijuca rainforest to Corcovado, on whose summit the world-famous statue of Christ watches over Rio de Janeiro. You will have a fantastic view from Chinese View, a vantage point that is also visited and was not accessible until recently.
For lunch, we head to the trendy Santa Teresa neighbourhood, a hilly area with a charming, village-like flair. Here we have planned lunch (including three courses, excluding drinks) at the Aprazivel restaurant.
Many of the elegant villas in the steep, winding streets are home to chic boutique hotels, fancy cocktail bars and romantic restaurants with bay views. Santa" is also known for its artists' studios, the Museu da Chácara do Céu with European and Brazilian art exhibitions and the idyllic Parque das Ruínas with an art gallery built around the ruins of a manor house.
You can get a unique perspective of the cosmopolitan city on the optional (not included) helicopter sightseeing flight in the afternoon. Then it's back to the hotel.
For the evening, we recommend dinner (not included) at the trendy restaurant "Puro" by Pedro Siqueria or at "Satyricon" in Ipanema. Start your day with a relaxing morning on the world-famous Copacabana beach. Enjoy a delicious breakfast by the hotel pool, take a dip in the sea or stroll along the beach. You embark on the second part of your private, approximately six-hour tour of the city's most beautiful highlights. We recommend beach and shopping like Gisele Bündchen in Ipanema, the totally hip neighbourhood in Rio. The famous beach of the same name is popular with a mixed crowd as a meeting place and for sunbathing. Surfers are drawn to the rocky Pedra do Arpoador peninsula, which also offers hiking trails and a picturesque sunset. In the green streets of the neighbourhood away from the promenade, you will find exclusive fashion boutiques, gourmet restaurants and casual bars playing bossa nova music.

Private transfer to the airport and flight to the Iguazú Falls, the Brazilian side of which you will get to know today.
Reception by your local, German-speaking tour guide and private transfer to the hotel, on the Brazilian side of the mighty waterfalls in the middle of the tropical forest. Here you will move into your colonial rooms at the Belmond Hotel Das Cataratas.
On a guided hike in the early evening, you will experience with your private guide how the mighty waters of the Iguazú plunge into the tropical jungle in countless individual cataracts over a width of almost 2.5 kilometres. Freshly squeezed from fully ripe tropical fruit, the juices are then served to you as refreshments on your return to the hotel.
Optional: In the evening, a BBQ (not included) of the finest quality awaits you: specialities from the grill in the style of the "gauchos". There is also a rich buffet with local dishes. If you wish, you can round off the evening in the Tarobá bar or with live Brazilian music on the veranda.

After a tropical breakfast, you will travel with your private guide in a private car to the Argentinian side. The obligatory train takes you far into the cataract area. From here, you take a varied circular route to the Argentinian side of the waterfalls. The path leads directly through the spray mist to the foot of the "eternal" rainbow, very close to the individual cataracts. The hike ends in the spectacular Devil's Gorge. From a height of 60 metres, the masses of water plunge into the tropical jungle in 275 individual cataracts over a width of almost 2.5 kilometres - a picture of majestic beauty.
In the afternoon you can see them once again from above: on the helicopter flight you get a breathtaking view over the waterfalls and see their full extent.
If you don't want the helicopter flight to be the only exciting adventure tour on the day, you can also choose (optional, not included) between various tours through the national park, such as the Macuco boat safari or rafting - both of which are of course also close to the waterfalls.

They then drive for around two and a half hours in two air-conditioned vans into the Amazon rainforest to Novo Airao to the Mirante do Gaviao Amazon Lodge/ Uiracu Hawk.

Opened in spring 2007, Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is located on the edge of the Anavilhanas archipelago of the same name on the right bank of the Rio Negros. The archipelago is the largest water archipelago in the world and consists of more than 400 islands spread over an area of more than 90 square kilometres of untouched rainforest. The lodge is about three hours' drive from Manaus and is surrounded by unspoilt jungle, rivers, lakes and islands. The particularly environmentally friendly attitude of the lodge owners, who use solar energy and have introduced a recycling programme, is remarkable.

The lodge has 16 rooms, four cosy and comfortably furnished bungalows and two exclusive panoramic bungalows built on wooden stilts overlooking the Rio Negro. All accommodation has air conditioning, private bathroom/WC with hot water, mini-bar and a private veranda in the middle of nature.
Chalet:
In the 28 square metre chalet, you can choose between one king-size and two twin beds. There is an additional bed for a possible third person. The hammock on the veranda overlooks the forest.

German nationals do not require a visa to enter Brazil as long as the duration of their stay does not exceed 90 days within a six-month period.
Travelling to Brazil is possible all year round. In our autumn and winter it is very warm, almost hot and summery. From November to March, temperatures reach around thirty degrees during the day and drop to around twenty degrees at night. There is no best time to visit as the country is so vast. The months of May to September are good for Rio de Janeiro. Then it is winter in Brazil and the temperatures are a pleasant 25 degrees. The climate in Brazil is predominantly tropical and subtropical. The north and east of the country show little difference in temperature with a tropical climate, while the south is subtropical and has a milder climate.
If you are travelling to Brazil from Europe, you do not need to provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination. However, most of Brazil is now a yellow fever endemic area, so a vaccination is necessary for personal protection. The extent of the affected regions in Brazil changes at short notice, but only a few areas are currently free of yellow fever. It is best to seek advice from a tropical or travel medicine specialist. Many other countries require proof of immunisation when entering Brazil. It has been observed that countries in the South and Central America region are carrying out increased controls and entry regulations are changing. Please also ensure that you and your children are up to date with the standard vaccinations according to the Robert Koch Institute's vaccination calendar. Vaccinations against hepatitis A are also recommended for travelling, as well as against hepatitis B, typhoid and rabies for long-term stays or special exposure.
