Japan - Nature on the island of Hokkaido

Fantastic scenery, volcanoes, onsen and the finest powder snow in winter

It is no coincidence that Sapporo was the venue for the Winter Olympics in 1972. The mild weather in summer is ideal for exploring the green hills and national parks. Mountains, rivers and lakes are perfect for hiking and canoeing. On this tour, you will experience the beauty of Hokkaido off the beaten track. You will bathe in hot springs, travel by boat through a world of tiny islands and take the cable car up Mount Hakodate. You can also look forward to everyday life in Japan: breakfast at the fish market puts you right in the centre of the morning hustle and bustle.

Hokkaido is worth seeing at any time of year. The cherry blossom here occurs relatively late at the end of May. In autumn, the slopes of the volcanoes take on their colourful autumn dress. We are happy to make alpine holiday fun possible for you in winter. At the beginning of February, the snow festival also attracts visitors to Sapporo: around 400 snow and ice sculptures can be admired in Odori Park.
