Welcome to nowhere. Longitude 131° is surrounded by the seeming infinity of Australia's Red Desert at 131 degrees longitude. An incredible panoramic view of Uluru - the sanctuary of the Aborigines - awaits you in the luxurious comfort of 5.5-star accommodation. You will stay in one of 15 canvas-covered luxury tents. With their modern design, the elegant domiciles blend in with their surroundings and together resemble a research camp or a tent city in the middle of the desert. All suites with their canvas roofs are grouped around the Dune House, which houses a restaurant, bar and library.
Room
Each of the fifteen 40 square metre luxury tents is individually decorated to tell the story of a different Australian pioneer who once explored the outback. The luxury tents feature stone floors with natural fibre carpets, fine cotton bed linen, a comfortable bathroom with shower, a panoramic window with a view of Uluru and air conditioning. There is a choice of a double bed or two single beds. Amenities include a CD player, hairdryer, bathrobe, telephone, safe, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities.
Gastronomy
Contemporary Australian cuisine awaits you at Longitude 131°'s restaurant, created from the finest local ingredients from around the country, combined with indigenous flavours from the outback.
Wellness and activities
Located deep in the sand dunes, Spa Kinara invites travellers to take a relaxing and rejuvenating break in the middle of the desert. The spa is inspired by the traditional wiltja, the dwellings of the country's ancestors. All treatments are performed using indigenous products such as Kakadu plum, quandong, yellow clay and nutrient-rich Australian desert salts.
Longitude 131° has developed an extensive excursion programme especially for its guests, which includes exclusive tours in a luxury four-wheel drive vehicle, giving you a good insight into the culture of the Aborigines. Experienced English-speaking guides will inform you about the flora and fauna of the area. The tours on offer depend on the time of year, weather conditions and local events.
