Necker Island is located in the North Sound of the British Virgin Islands, in the eastern Caribbean Sea, east of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Accommodation is spread across the small island, which is exclusively available to just 48 guests plus 5 children. Individual rooms or houses can be booked at certain times of the year, otherwise the island is rented out exclusively.
Destination airport: You reach the British Virgin Islands by plane via St Martin, Antigua or Puerto Rico, from there a short flight to Tortola and onwards by boat.
Flight time: from Amsterdam to St. Martin, approx. 9 hours, onwards to Tortola approx. 1 hour, boat transfer approx. 30 min. You will be greeted with a glass of champagne at the tiny harbour on Necker Island.

From white sandy beaches to crystal clear waters, there is an endless list of activities on Necker Island to keep you busy during your stay. Land lovers can enjoy everything from yoga to tennis and water lovers can learn to kitesurf or take part in a sailing regatta around the island. And when the sun goes down... the party begins.
Water sports
Water sports are included in every holiday and the team of highly qualified instructors can help you with this: Kite surfing, water skiing and wakeboarding. Sailing, pedal boating, kayaking
Underwater ship. Whether you want to try something new, have some adrenaline-fuelled fun or explore the waters at your leisure, you can do it all in a safe and controlled environment with practical tuition if required.
Snorkelling and diving
The waters of the British Virgin Islands offer incredible opportunities for snorkelling and diving. Snorkelling masks and fins are available to explore the waters. For those who wish to venture further afield and explore other underwater locations, day trips can be organised with full equipment and plenty of refreshments.
Diving: Wreck, reef and night dives can be arranged nearby. If you are not PADI qualified, training can be organised on the island. There is an additional charge for this.
Yoga, tennis & co.
There are a variety of activities on the island that you can enjoy during your stay. Take part in customised yoga classes. You should also not miss out on yoga at sunrise or sunset.
With a resident tennis pro, two floodlit courts and plenty of equipment, you'll find it hard to tear yourself away from the tennis courts during your stay!
Hiking: Necker Island is 74 acres and 3 miles in circumference, so there are a number of hiking trails to take you along the coast or over the main ridge.
Gym: With this sea view, you won't need much encouragement to keep up your fitness regime.
Spa
The Samudra Spa treatment rooms are located between the Red Dock and the Beach House, where the lush tropical landscape meets a white sandy beach overlooking the sea.
Whether you're indulging in some much-needed self-care after a night of partying in true tease style or recovering from an energising day of activities, the spa is the ultimate sanctuary to retreat to in order to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.
When - where - how? You decide where you eat and what delicacies the chefs conjure up for you. Dinner on the beach, breakfast on the private terrace, a cocktail hour at sunset - anything is possible.
Necker Island is currently home to over 100 chickens that lay around 300 eggs a week. The chefs on the island support the local economy wherever possible and work with local fishermen and farmers to ensure that food is sourced locally and from neighbouring islands in the Caribbean to reduce the number of food miles.
Your private retreat on Necker Island is completely customised to your needs. All guest rooms offer beautiful panoramic ocean views and tropical vistas. No two rooms are the same, but all offer complete privacy, a spacious terrace and some even have their own pool.
The Great House
This spacious Balinese-style house is located on the highest point of the island and offers a panoramic view of the Caribbean, the Atlantic and some neighbouring islands. A staircase leads to the Crow's Nest, which is equipped with a whirlpool and numerous sun loungers, and the wraparound terrace where you can enjoy the sunset. The Great House houses the master suite with three terraces, various bedrooms and a lovingly designed bunk room with three bunk beds for children.
Bali Lo Complex
This two-storey Balinese house has a living room on the ground floor with TV and a bedroom on the first floor with spectacular views of the sea.
Bali Buah
Bali Buah, the Indonesian name for fruit, is adjacent to Bali Lo. This spacious room has a private bathroom and a large balcony with seating and a hammock, from which you have a fantastic view.
Bali Kukila
The Indonesian word for bird and located next to Bali Buah. This large room has a king-size four-poster bed with en-suite bathroom cleverly tucked away behind it. There is also a lounge area leading to a spectacular private terrace with a view to match.
Bali Hi Complex
A stunning three-storey Balinese house with spectacular ocean views from the king-size bed. Includes plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers and terrace with day bed.
This includes Bali Cliff, one of the most romantic spots on Necker on the edge of the island, surrounded by the sea. It also includes a plunge pool and an open-air bathroom with a free-standing bathtub.
Bali Beach is a spacious king-size bedroom that offers the best view of Flamingo Beach, home to Necker Island's most famous (and colourful!) species. It includes a plunge pool, two terraces and an outdoor shower.
Temple House
Located in the centre of the island, Temple House consists of four Balinese-style bedrooms and the Elders Temple. Elders Temple is a shared space with an infinity pool, a huge open-plan dining, bar and lounge area. The panoramic view over the Flamingo Pond makes it one of the best sunset spots on the island.
To enter the British Virgin Islands, you need a passport that must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of your trip. EU citizens do not need an entry visa.
Please refrain from importing perishable food.
An environmental levy of USD 10 per person is charged.
If you are transferring in the USA, you will need a machine-readable passport with a digital photo and biometric data in chip form. In addition, you must complete the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) form online approx. 2 weeks before departure. This online registration costs approx. USD 14 per person. Please note that visa-free travel (ESTA) is not possible if you have stayed in Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Iran, Iraq and Sudan after 1 May 2011. The climate in the British Virgin Islands is tropically mild, with daily maximum temperatures moderated by winds and ranging from 25°C in winter to 28°C in summer. The wettest months are between September and November with short, heavy rainfalls. Hurricanes and tropical storms can occur from July to October. The best time to visit is from December to May. Between April and August is the best time for diving due to the calm weather.
No vaccinations are required for direct entry from Germany or Austria.
If you are travelling via Panama, you must provide proof of a yellow fever vaccination certificate, as the country is considered a yellow fever area.
The Federal Foreign Office recommends the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute www.rki.de
