The Baraza Resort & Spa Zanzibar takes you back to the time of the sultans directly on the white beach of Bweju: oriental architecture and extraordinary antiques. Located on the south-east coast of Zanzibar, the luxurious boutique resort transports you to the world of times gone by. The professional therapists come from Thailand, Bali and India and offer a wide range of specialised massage techniques and treatments, including the famous Thai massage. All treatments utilise the highest quality natural skincare products, as well as a selection of essential oils infused with local spices. Sport and fitness
Work out in the well-equipped gym or hire a bike to explore the surrounding area. There is also beach volleyball and tennis on the hotel's own tennis court. Various water sports are also available, such as kite surfing and stand-up paddling. The resort also offers half-day snorkelling trips to small, enchanting bays (some activities and water sports for a fee).
The culinary cultures of Africa, Asia, India and Persia merge on the daily changing menu. Menus also reflect the diverse seasonal produce of the magical island of Zanzibar.
Breakfast and dinner are served in the open-air Livingstone Terrace restaurant. The Ocean Lounge opens for lunch for a wide selection of daily specials, pizza and salads. The Dhahabu Bar & Lounge opens in the evening and is the perfect place for a cocktail before and after dinner.

German citizens require a passport valid for at least six months and a visa to travel to Tanzania. This can be applied for at the Tanzanian embassy and on arrival at the international airport. Further information can be obtained from the embassy: www.tanzania-gov.de.

Tanzania has a mild, tropical climate all year round. The best time to visit is from June to September. The rainy season is from March to May and from October to November.
There are no vaccination requirements for direct entry from Germany. When travelling to Zanzibar, proof of yellow fever vaccination is required. As the authorities there regard entry from the mainland as arrival from an endemic area, proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for onward travel to the island.
The Federal Foreign Office recommends the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute for children and adults (see: www.rki.de) when travelling and complete them if necessary.
