The luxury of silence in the mountains - Inspired by Nature
A stately 18th century estate in the mountains south-west of Palma - Castell Son Claret consists of a 19th century manor house with eight outbuildings, a huge forest, pastures and gardens. The extensive country estate was purchased in 2010 by the German couple Christine and Klaus-Michael Kühne and transformed into a perfect luxury country hotel. The historic charm of the buildings has been preserved, while the interior aesthetic is purist and modern. Since its opening in spring 2013, it has been recognised as one of the top addresses in Mallorca and is one of the Leading Hotels of the World.
Castell Son Claret is located in a hilly landscape near the village of Es Capdellà. The second highest mountain in the west of Mallorca, the Galatzó, provides a wonderful backdrop. Es Capdellà is only a few minutes away, the fashionable Porto Portals is only about ten minutes away by car and Andratx or Palma are about 20 km away.

Location: Castell Son Claret is located in the green hills in the south-west of Mallorca. An avenue of palm trees leads from the small country road to the Castell. The surrounding area is characterised by forests, pastures and fields.
The water in the outdoor pool comes from the castle's historic well, so it does not need to be chlorinated.
A 7.2-kilometre trail has been set up across the estate for jogging and walks. The hotel's own bicycles are available for excursions in the surrounding area.
The Spa Bellesa de Claret uses exclusive natural care and well ageing products and pampers you with numerous treatments and massage offers. Couples can enjoy the variety on offer in a separate room at the same time. In addition to a traditional sauna, Castell Son Claret also offers a Moorish hammam and an indoor pool.
For the culinary Restaurant Olivera is provided by chef José Forteza and his team. The restaurant is the culinary heart of the hotel: enjoy freshly baked bread, fresh orange juice and heavenly omelettes for breakfast on the lavender-lined terrace. In the evening, savoury and healthy Spanish-Mediterranean delicacies with the hotel's own spice blends are served by candlelight.
The elegant gourmet restaurant Sa Clastra is under the direction of the young Mallorcan chef Jordi Cantó. With his innovative and exciting cuisine, Jordi Cantó is breaking new ground to create a special culinary experience that draws on Mallorcan heritage.
The owners Christine and Klaus-Michael Kühne restored the historic Castell with its 41 rooms and suites true to the original and extended it with great attention to detail. During the careful remodelling, great importance was attached to preserving the intimacy of the property with its extensive, original gardens.
All 43 suites and rooms at Castell Son Claret differ in size and layout and reflect the history of the estate in their own way. What unites them is the combination of luxurious elegance and charm, embedded in the breathtaking beauty of nature: all with views over the extensive estate, the park-like garden, the rugged mountains or the romantic courtyard.
Pool Suites
The 70 - 80 m² Pool Suites guarantee absolute privacy. They offer a separate living room and bedroom with direct access to a private garden with sun deck and pool. The interior of the suites is decorated in warm cream and caramel tones and the high ceilings with wooden beams create a cosy and homely atmosphere. They are located in the extensive gardens.
Other suites are up to 105 m² in size and are located in both historic and new buildings. Not all of them have their own balcony.
The Water Tower Duplex room with 2 x 30 m² in the old water tower is particularly original. On the ground floor there is a cosy living room, a narrow staircase leads to the bedroom and bathroom on the upper floor. The private terrace offers a marvellous view of the surrounding gardens and fields.
The modern Castell Suite is located on the ground floor in a separate building next to the Castell and, at 105 m², is ideal for couples or families. It is the largest in the hotel and offers a separate entrance for maximum privacy. A large living room and bedroom form the centrepiece of the suite. A further room can be used as a second bedroom, playroom or study.

The climate on Mallorca is mild and very temperate. Winters are also quite mild, with lows of around nine degrees in January. It is best to travel to Mallorca in spring, early summer and autumn.
