Uniquely designed after the mysterious shipwrecks
Shipwreck Lodge is located in the Skeleton Coast National Park, a place of unrivalled wildness and beauty. The park stretches along a coastline marked by the remains of ships that have been stranded there over the centuries.
The lodge itself is modelled after these shipwrecks and offers guests the opportunity to stay in one of the most unique and dramatic accommodations on the continent. The national park is officially the least visited of all national parks in Namibia, making it a perfect place for adventurers and nature lovers.

There is no place in Africa quite like Shipwreck Lodge. Side is located on the rugged, remote Skeleton Coast, where high dunes and windswept plains stretch to the horizon.
The area offers more than just isolation. You can discover the desert fauna, marvel at the fascinating desert flora, watch the sunset on the dunes, search for whale bones and shipwreck remains on the beach and admire the geologically remarkable "Clay Castles". A small selection of possible activities is presented below:

The lodge was built to match the stunning landscape of the Skeleton Coast. Each of the 10 rooms has been designed to resemble the shipwrecks that line the beach. There are eight double or twin rooms and two family rooms. All rooms are en-suite and have solar power. At the centre of the camp you will find an innovatively designed lounge and restaurant with a large wrap-around terrace and uninterrupted views across the sand to the Atlantic Ocean.
German nationals do not require a visa to enter Namibia as long as the trip does not exceed 90 days. A passport that is valid for at least six months and has at least two free pages is sufficient for entry.
If you are travelling from Germany, you do not need to provide proof of vaccinations. The Federal Foreign Office recommends checking and completing the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute for children and adults when travelling (www.rki.de).
The climate in Namibia is as varied as the landscape. Temperatures fluctuate during the day and between the seasons, especially in the Namib Desert, where it is very warm all year round. Rain is not very common, although short, heavy showers can occasionally occur between December and March.
