Ashford Castle

Ashford Castle, part of the renowned Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is not just a hotel, but a historical monument of national importance.

For 800 years, it has sat majestically in the centre of a picturesque 350-acre estate that stretches along the shores of sparkling Lough Corrib in County Mayo. The estate itself offers an impressive array of activities that highlight the beauty of the Irish countryside. From the renowned falconry school to horse riding, golf, fishing and cosy movie nights in the hotel's own cinema, there are plenty of ways to make the most of your stay.

Every room in the castle tells its own story, from the historic walls to the sumptuous rooms furnished with antiques, fine fabrics and special features. It was home to the famous Guinness family and has hosted many notable guests over the years, including the Prince of Wales and President Ronald Reagan. Under the guidance of General Manager Niall Rochford, who has served the castle for over 18 years, Ashford Castle has won numerous awards. It is proud to be the first hotel in Ireland to be awarded Forbes Five Star status and was voted "Best Of The Best" by Virtuoso.
