For German citizens travelling to the Caribbean, it is important to observe the entry requirements of the respective destinations. In Bridgetown, Barbados, and Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda, a valid passport is required, which must be valid for the entire duration of the stay. For Castries, Saint Lucia, Deshaies, Guadeloupe, and Gustavia, Saint-Barthélemy, the same regulations apply as for France. In the British Virgin Islands, a visa is not required for a tourist stay of up to 90 days, but a valid passport is required. For San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Fort Lauderdale, USA, the entry requirements of the United States apply, including the presentation of a negative COVID-19 test, which must not be older than three days, and quarantine requirements are waived for fully vaccinated travellers. As entry requirements may change due to the COVID-19 situation, it is recommended to check with the relevant authorities before travelling.
For travellers travelling to different Caribbean destinations and parts of the US, vaccination requirements appear to be variable. While some places such as Bridgetown, Castries, Deshaies, Saint John's, Gustavia and Jost van Dyke do not have specific vaccination requirements for vaccinated travellers, it is still advisable that all standard vaccinations are up to date. In contrast, all non-US citizens travelling to the US by air must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination status, which applies to destinations such as San Juan and Fort Lauderdale. It is important that travellers check the current travel regulations and health guidelines of their destination country before departure, as these regulations can change quickly.
Climate conditions in November and December vary, but offer mostly warm temperatures and occasional rainfall. In Bridgetown, Barbados, and Deshaies, Guadeloupe, temperatures average a pleasant 28°C, with more rain expected in Deshaies. Castries, Saint Lucia, offers similar maximum temperatures, but cooler nights during the dry season. Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and Fort Lauderdale, USA, also experience high temperatures, which can rise in the summer months. In Gustavia, Saint-Barthélemy, almost all months are ideal for a visit, with the warmest conditions from January to June and in December. Jost van Dyke, British Virgin Islands, experiences the rainy season from September to November, characterised by short, heavy showers. San Juan, Puerto Rico, is characterised by a tropical monsoon climate, with high temperatures all year round and most rainfall in November. It is advisable to check the latest weather information before travelling as climate conditions can change.
