The Old Man And The Sea
Opened in 2008 in Aruba's historic Old Town, Savaneta, the Hemmingway-style restaurant takes romantic dining to a new level and is the only restaurant in Aruba to offer a private cabana experience over the water. The cuisine combines local specialities with global influence, using only the finest ingredients, fresh daily catch and premium meats from renowned suppliers.
As the sun sinks behind the horizon, the sky turns into a canvas of vibrant colours, creating the perfect backdrop for a romantic meal. The sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore adds to the tranquil ambience and makes every bite of the fresh, often locally sourced seafood and other delicacies even more enjoyable.
The overwater villas at Aruba Ocean Villas are a true gem for discerning travellers seeking a luxurious and unforgettable experience. The location of these villas is simply breathtaking - perched majestically above the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea, they offer unrivalled views and direct access to the azure waters.
The design of the villas is a masterpiece of architecture and interior design. It skilfully combines modern comfort with the natural beauty of the surroundings. Each villa is a retreat of peace and privacy, perfect for couples or those looking for a quiet retreat to relax and reconnect. The amenities are simply first class. From private terraces perfect for admiring the sunset to spacious sun decks perfect for relaxing, there's nothing lacking here. Some villas even offer exclusive private pools for the ultimate in luxury and relaxation.
A valid passport is required to enter Aruba. German, Austrian and Swiss nationals travelling for up to 30 days do not require a visa.
When entering the country, an entry form, the ED Card (Embarkation-Disembarkation Card), must be completed. The entry card can also be applied for online before travelling.
Aruba is an ideal holiday destination with its stable, warm weather and refreshing sea breeze, making the island a perfect place to visit at any time of year. As one of the ABC islands, Aruba benefits from its position close to the equator and its location on the Venezuelan coast, resulting in a dry, warm climate with little rain. Another advantage is that Aruba is rarely affected by hurricanes.
Every traveller to Aruba should have the standard vaccinations generally recommended for Germany, in particular an up-to-date vaccination against tetanus (tetanus), diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), measles and a basic immunisation against poliomyelitis/polio.
Depending on age and state of health, further recommendations may be made. Adequate protection against hepatitis A (jaundice) or hepatitis B is also recommended.
Important note:
This trip is partially suitable for travellers with reduced mobility, depending on their impairment.
