Omani cuisine is mainly influenced by the Arabic and Indian way of cooking, but don't worry, the spiciness is kept within limits. Gourmets will find the best cuisine in top restaurants in Oman and foodies new exotic flavours. Away from the capital region, there are many small and simple restaurants that offer good and plentiful meals. Here, food is usually eaten with the fingers of the right hand, but travellers are usually automatically offered cutlery.
Oman has numerous beautiful and unique landscapes and natural areas. The Sultanate's government attaches great importance to protecting the environment and conserving natural resources. There are several beautiful nature parks and nature reserves that are always worth a visit. You should also see the wadis with their bizarre rock formations and the seemingly endless desert with your own eyes. The government of the Sultanate of Oman works with national and international partners on all projects and ensures that they secure success and new jobs for the country. The focus is on respect for the population and local conditions as well as a commitment to sustainable tourism development.
The best time to visit is between November and March. The daytime temperatures are pleasant at around 25 degrees, there are only a few rainy days and the air and visibility are clear. The summer months, on the other hand, are very hot and there is high humidity in many parts of the country. In the Hadjar Mountains, it can get cool during the day.
