Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef system in the world and its stunning central section lies just off Gladden Private Island. Snorkelling requires just a few fin strokes from the beach in front of your villa, or let your island host arrange a trip to nearby Gladden Spit, one of the best dive sites in the world. Enjoy the use of the Hobie Cat, kayaks and paddle boards. Spearfishing and deep sea fishing are available at an additional cost.

German nationals do not require a visa to enter the country and stay for tourism purposes for up to 1 month. The passport must be valid for at least six months upon departure. Travellers must present a return flight or connecting ticket and proof of sufficient funds (75 US dollars/day) upon entry.
The exit fee is currently 19 US dollars for leaving the country by land and 37.50 US dollars for leaving by plane. An entry fee is currently not charged.
If the border is crossed by land, the tax must be paid (approx. 10 US dollars).
No compulsory vaccinations are required for direct entry from Germany. If travelling from a yellow fever area, proof of yellow fever vaccination must be provided.
Make sure that you and your children are up to date with the standard immunisations according to the Robert Koch Institute's vaccination calendar.
Vaccinations against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid and rabies are recommended as travel vaccinations for long-term stays or special exposure.
The climate in Belize is tropical and divided into two phases: the dry season from December to May and the rainy season from June to November. In the dry season, the average temperature in Belize is between 25 and 30 degrees. It can be hotter on the coast. The rainy season is cooler and the humidity is higher during this time.
As Belize has a tropical climate, it is hurricane season from June to the end of November. During this time, tropical storms and intense rainfall can be expected, especially on the coasts.
The best time to visit Belize for a beach holiday on the Caribbean coast is between December and May. The months of February and March are best for a complete round trip, while the rainy season is better for surfing and visiting the rainforest.
