Even the tiny island of Benguerra has a league made up of teams from the lodges and villages. The local teams usually meet on Sunday afternoons to play. Azura Benguerra Island is located on the small island of Benguerra on the coast of Mozambique in the Bazaruto archipelago. 16 villas are spread out in a large, tropical park directly on the paradisiacal beach. Great importance was attached to sustainability when building the resort: The resort is made entirely from renewable raw materials, is carbon-neutral, and promotes both environmental protection and social projects.

The communal areas of Azura Benguerra Island extend along the beach and offer open views of the sea. There are several areas to relax and enjoy, including a cosy lounge, an inviting Star Bar and an exclusive wine cellar with a fine selection of wines specially imported from a chateau in France. Breakfast and more formal meals can be enjoyed at the Jellyfish Restaurant, while a media room, boutique and a world-class Padi 5-star dive centre with high-end Scubapro equipment are also available.

A visa is required to enter Mozambique. This must be obtained from one of Mozambique's diplomatic missions before travelling to the country. If trips to neighbouring countries are planned, a multiple-entry visa (visto mùltiplo) should be applied for before departure to Mozambique. Travellers should not exceed the length of stay permitted in the visa, as there is a risk of heavy fines. When entering the country, travellers may be asked to present their return flight ticket, funds for the duration of their stay, details of hotel accommodation, etc.
A passport that is valid for at least six months is required. Children require their own children's passport or passport that is valid for at least six months after travelling.

Mozambique is almost entirely part of the humid tropics with a wet and a dry season. During the rainy season, which lasts from October to March, around 80% of the annual precipitation falls. In the northern coastal zone up to about the Zambezi, there are only slight temperature fluctuations throughout the year. The average daytime temperatures from October to May are around 32°C. In the remaining months, it is only slightly cooler with temperatures around 29°C.
There are no vaccination requirements for direct entry from Germany. The Federal Foreign Office recommends checking the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute for children and adults (see: www.rki.de) when travelling and completing them if necessary.
