Even as a teenager, Alexander found it fascinating to experience foreign cultures and extraordinary natural wonders while travelling. Due to his Thai roots, he considers Southeast Asia and the Far East to be his second home. Over the last two decades, he has therefore mainly travelled to countries such as Japan, China and India. But the adventurous travel professional was also fascinated by Central America early on - as well as Iran, Morocco and Egypt. The result of this diverse passion for travelling: extensive country knowledge and an equally extensive network of valuable contacts all over the world. Alexander likes to use both to inspire his customers to take the most unusual trips possible.

The fact that Rebekka is drawn to faraway places was laid in her cradle by her travelling extended family: She spent her holidays with her parents and many siblings in all kinds of countries that could be reached by caravan. When she started travelling around 30 years ago, she gradually added more and more overseas destinations. To this day, her passion for exploring new countries remains unbroken. Her aim is to make her customers' travel wishes as unique as possible and to turn the best time of the year into an unforgettable experience. Rebekka benefits from her many years of expertise in the luxury travel segment.

Meinhard, a native Berliner, has been working in the luxury travel sector for four decades and knows his way around. Although officially retired, he has taken on the new challenge at Select Luxury Travel with joy and commitment to arrange individual travel experiences for guests at the highest level. He has the best tips and extraordinary ideas. There is hardly a region in Asia and Oceania that the luxury travel expert has not personally experienced and travelled to. For Meinhard, it is always important to offer discerning travellers more than they expect. Surprising guests is his passion. He would like to share what he himself has experienced in his favourite destinations (and beyond) with travel enthusiasts and inspire them to take part in our extraordinary trips.

How did Sandra's love of travelling begin? The first step was travelling across Europe with an Interrail ticket. It only took 2 years in the travel industry and she was on a plane to Asia. My wanderlust grew stronger and stronger, so I travelled to the Seychelles, the Caribbean, Australia, the USA and Canada. The focus is on authentic experiences, extraordinary surroundings and quiet moments of connection. Sandra finds this not only when travelling abroad, but also in Europe. Authentic Ireland immediately springs to mind. It is important to her that the holiday is associated with many emotions and beautiful memories for our guests. After 34 years in the industry, she still loves to realise the exciting ideas and appealing wishes of our guests, coupled with her own knowledge, with great attention to detail.

Batool is fascinated by travelling and aviation technology. Even as a child, she was fascinated by the perfect interplay in the world of flight, navigation, physics and the wonder of flying. Her greatest wish was to become an air traffic controller. Today, the Jordanian-born pilot regularly flies to the United Arab Emirates and enjoys the futuristic world with her family. She looks after our guests and sales partners charmingly and with commitment, passion and a great deal of sensitivity. She is always cheerfully at their side. Service is a top priority for Batool, she loves details, precision and leaves nothing to chance. Travelling is her passion.

Alvina is a passionate traveller with a heart for people. Driven by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, she is always discovering new places and cultures. She enriches our team with her responsible and goal-orientated way of working. Her commitment to tourism and her warm approach to people enrich our company with fresh ideas and new perspectives.

Kathrin has dreamed of exploring the world since she was a child. After graduating from high school, she embarked on a journey through the USA, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Central America, where she learnt invaluable lessons about people, countries and the intricacies of life. Joining Select Luxury, she found the perfect synergy to combine her knowledge from her previous anthropology studies, her passion for travelling and working with people. An explorer at heart, Kathrin believes that personalised travel offers more than just relaxation: every trip should be an enriching experience tailored to the traveller's interests and needs.

Tatjana has been a permanent member of the Abendsonne Africa team since 2012 and took over as Sales Manager in March 2024. Her enthusiasm for Africa began during her tourism studies, when she worked as a student trainee for Abendsonne Africa. She now knows the continent like the back of her hand. Whether Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda or Oman - Tatjana will be happy to advise you on planning your personalised trip to Africa. Her expertise lies in putting together tailor-made travel experiences, from classic safaris to adventurous trekking tours. She is particularly focussed on encounters with fascinating wildlife, such as the mountain gorillas in Uganda, which make for unforgettable experiences.

Leonhard has been part of the Abendsonne Africa team for many years. While studying ethnology, he discovered his love of Africa and deepened it by travelling to Botswana, Namibia, Kenya and Tanzania. His enthusiasm for Africa's diverse cultures and fascinating wildlife is palpable in every consultation. Leonhard specialises in East Africa and can also hold simple conversations in Swahili. His extensive knowledge of the region makes him an indispensable contact for anyone planning an unforgettable safari or beach holiday.
As an expert for both East Africa and Oman, Leonhard finds the right adventure for every traveller. Through two self-drive tours, he has experienced the impressive mountain worlds and cultural treasures of the country at first hand and is happy to share his knowledge with travellers.

Liane has loved the African continent since she was a child. After countless trips and adventures in southern and eastern Africa, she is one of the best Africa experts imaginable. When it comes to Africa's flora and fauna, she is also the most competent contact person and can tell you where you can find which animal species. As founder and partner of Abendsonne Afrika, she is always on the lookout for the most beautiful and sustainable camps and lodges, is involved both financially and proactively in various nature conservation projects (in Africa and in Germany) and regularly leads small groups on unusual trips through the most exciting areas of Africa.

Dirk has been following an insatiable urge to travel for decades - and this has taken him all over the world to this day. From his countless journeys, he has brought back just as much personal experience and genuine local knowledge. He has been happy to pass on both to his guests for over 32 years. In this way, he guarantees each and every traveller much more than just tailor-made luxury trips - namely unforgettable experiences that can change the way you look at things and even your whole life. With this in mind, he founded Select Luxury Travel in 2018 and has been managing the overall business of Select Luxury Travel as a travel visionary since January 2018. Together with his dedicated, experienced and service-oriented team, the luxury travel expert is pursuing his mission: to create unique, exclusive holidays for the most wonderful time of the year.

Thomas travelled all over the world as a tour director with groups to finance his business studies. This part-time job became his vocation. He explored the luxury travel market with luxury cruise lines and couldn't get away from it. Getting to know a different culture, new impressions and new people every day has remained his fascination to this day. Together with Dirk and his team, he supports Select Luxury Travel and is responsible for the strategic area. The world of travelling is changing a lot, but the local people remain and friendships are more important than ever.

Nils was bitten by the travelling bug as a teenager and discovered many different countries around the world with his family. He has travelled to Australia, the South Pacific, China and North America, among other places. He joined Select Luxury Travel as a working student immediately after graduating from high school in summer 2018 and is now part of the team. In New Zealand and Cape Town, he expanded his professional expertise through longer work stays. His insatiable appetite for travelling means he is constantly discovering new destinations, including in Europe. He wants to infect our guests with his passion for travelling and create unforgettable travel experiences for them.
