The W Hotel is located in North Ari Atoll, about 85 kilometres north of Malé. After arriving at Velana International Airport on Malé, the capital of the Maldives, you will be greeted by an airport employee and accompanied to check-in for your onward flight. A private transfer will then take you to the domestic terminal. You can enjoy drinks, snacks and WiFi in the W-Lounge before boarding your 30-minute seaplane flight to the resort.
At the WAVE water sports centre you will find everything and more to have fun: From boat trips, jet skiing, jogging on the fitness trail and kayaking, to sailing, sauna, snorkelling, volleyball, water skiing and table tennis, to parasailing, catamaran, windsurfing, kitesurfing, pedal boating and deep-sea fishing. It is warm all year round in the Maldives, the climate is tropical with high humidity. The driest months are from October to May, between June and September it can rain more often. The cheapest time to travel is from May to September, with most tour operators charging higher prices, especially over Christmas and New Year.
German nationals require a visa to enter the Maldives. Tourist visas for a stay of 30 days are available on arrival. It is possible to extend the tourist visa to 90 days on site.
There are no vaccination requirements for travellers who have only stayed in Germany before travelling to the Maldives. The Federal Foreign Office recommends checking the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute before travelling and completing them if necessary.
