A new "hotel era" is dawning on the Red Sea with The Oberoi Beach Resort. The first "all-suite" resort in this region has 102 luxurious suites and is located in a park covering around ten hectares. Despite its seclusion, the resort is only 20 minutes away from Hurghada Airport. The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh is located directly on a 900 metre long private beach and offers ideal opportunities to explore the breathtaking underwater world of the region.
The elegant suites have been harmoniously integrated into their natural surroundings and offer complete privacy. Architectural accents such as towers, archways and columns reflect the country's traditional Islamic architecture. The interior design of the villas is a sophisticated combination of light colours, warm woods and handcrafted art objects. Modern technology is a matter of course: all suites are equipped with satellite TV, minibar, direct dial telephone with integrated voice mail and fax as well as WLAN.
The marble bathrooms with walk-in closet feature a clever detail: the bathtub is set into the marble floor. Large glass fronts overlook the private garden. All ground-floor suites have a small inner courtyard. Many offer a private pavilion for al fresco dining.
The Deluxe Suites are approx. 85 square metres in size and differ only in their location. The Deluxe Suites only offer partial sea views, while the Superior Deluxe Suites are all located in the first row to the beach. All suites now have two sun loungers in their own courtyard. The accommodation units are very tastefully furnished with Egyptian style elements. They have a combined living/sleeping area, a walk-in wardrobe, a large, light-flooded bathroom with separate shower and in-ground bathtub, hairdryer, safe, minibar, two TVs, telephone, air conditioning and a private courtyard with a large terrace and sun loungers.
The Grand Suites extend over 125 square metres and also have their own swimming pool, which is heated in the cooler months, as well as a larger courtyard. The Royal Suites are very spacious at 225 square metres each and have a separate sleeping area, living room with dining area, kitchen and a very large courtyard with private pool and dining pavilion. The outdoor area is beautiful and offers complete privacy.
The restaurant area now offers a daily changing menu for lunch and dinner. Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine is also on offer. The à la carte restaurant serves international and oriental specialities in the evening, or you can dine in the Indian restaurant "Zaafran". Elegantly decorated in blue and silver, the restaurant offers a romantic ambience with live oriental music.
The "Pergola" pool bar offers salads, soups, pasta or pizza during the day as well as cocktails with a view of the sea. The bar offers an elegant setting for afternoon tea or a drink. A selection of international wines and spirits is complemented by a range of Cuban cigars and exquisite cocktails. Upon request, guests can enjoy a selection of Indian, Oriental and international dishes in the privacy of their suite.
There is also a diving centre in the hotel. It was completely renovated and reopened in June 2011. All the equipment has been completely renewed. Here you can book various PADI diving courses or hire snorkelling equipment free of charge to get to know the fantastic underwater world of the hotel's own reef.
A spacious swimming pool and a children's pool as well as two tennis courts provide fun and games. In addition, The Oberoi Beach Resort has a health club with the world-famous Banyan Tree SPA programme. A modern fitness room is also available. Two 18-hole golf courses can be reached in around 30 minutes by car.
The new "Touching Senses" programme was created to offer guests very special experiences. The offer includes, for example, observing the night sky under the guidance of an experienced astronomer, yoga lessons for beginners or cinema evenings on the beach. You can also learn about the traditional art of weaving or create your own message in a bottle with a sand artist. All offers are free of charge for hotel guests.
