South Africa (Cape Town, Mossel Bay, Durban): December is the start of the South African summer with warm to hot temperatures that can reach up to 31°C. It is a popular time for travelling with sunny weather, although occasional small thunderstorms can occur in the late afternoon.
Madagascar (Tolagnaro): Summer prevails in Madagascar in December with average temperatures ranging from 17°C to 33°C. It is in the middle of the rainy season, but you don't have to expect the violent cyclones that can occur from January to March.
