These four southern European countries share a Mediterranean climate characterised by hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.
Winter from December to February is rainy and cool, storms can also sweep across the island and even snowfall is possible. The best time to visit is from May to October, although temperatures can reach up to 40 degrees in July and August at the height of summer.
