At around 09:00, your tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel to explore the city by public transport. First you will go to the N Seoul Tower, the 236.7 metre high television tower on Mount Namsan. Your tour guide will then take you through the Myeongdong shopping district and the Namdaemun market. Stroll through the streets with their many shops selling local products, food and souvenirs.
Your tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel at around 7.30 am. Today you will experience the political reality of South Korea at first hand: you will visit the demilitarised zone (DMZ), the border with North Korea. From the observatory, you can see as far as the Liberty Bridge. It is a sombre symbol of division: anyone who left here for the North after the Korean War never came back. In Imjingak Park, you will visit a museum that tells the story of the Korean War. Note: After arriving at Imjingak Park, board the DMZ shuttle bus with other visitors to go to the DMZ area (DMZ Exhibition Hall, the 3rd Tunnel, Dora Observatory).
Return to Seoul in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure.
After breakfast, you will travel with your tour guide from Seoul to Andong (approx. 230 km | approx. 2.5 hours). The traditional village of Hahoe is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is still inhabited today. There are still 130 traditional houses of a clan from the Joseon period, and you will also visit the mask museum. From the 64 metre high Buyongdae cliff, you can look out over the village, which is very picturesquely situated in a bend in the river.
Continue by private car to Gyeongju (approx. 140 km / approx. 1.5 hours).

In the morning, you will visit the Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995, with your tour guide. Here you will see the temple architecture from the Silla period in its most beautiful form. The main staircase with its 33 steps of enlightenment is one of South Korea's "national treasures". Afterwards, you will visit the Seokguram Grotto, which is attached to Bulguska Temple. The artificial grotto consists of precisely hewn granite blocks and is divided into three chambers that follow a metaphysical concept.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Haeinsa Temple on Mount Gaya. The Tripitaka Koreana, the most complete collection of Buddhist texts, is kept here. These were engraved on 80,000 wooden blocks between 1237 and 1248. This temple complex with its extraordinary works of art was also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
In the morning, your private tour guide will take you to Cheomseongdae, the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in Asia dating back to the 7th century. The stone structure is around 9 metres high and is a beautiful combination of straight lines and curves; it was declared National Treasure No. 31 on 20 December 1962. In the Tumuli Park, you will then visit the imposing royal tombs and the Anapji Pond of the royal family from the Silla Empire.
In the afternoon, we visit another palace and pond: Donggung Palace was used as the second residence of the crown prince of the Silla Empire, and the beautiful artificial Wolji Pond is adorned with three small islands.
After breakfast, your tour guide will be waiting for you in a private car to take you to Busan (approx. 139 km / approx. 1 hour). There you will first visit the Haedong Yonggungse Temple, which was built in 1376 and is characterised by its excellent location. It offers a wonderful panoramic view of the sea and is located just a few kilometres from Busan.
You then head to Nurimaru APEC House, which is located on the tip of the peninsula to the west of Haeundae Beach. You reach the building through a forest. Once there, you will be offered a marvellous view of the Gwangan Bridge and the coast of Busan.

After breakfast, your tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel. In the morning, you will visit the Gamcheon Cultural Village, which consists of houses built in the shape of steps on the foothills of a coastal mountain. Then head to the Jagalchi Fish Market, which is also a landmark of the city. Try one of the specialities in a local fish restaurant - here you can get the best fish in the country. In the afternoon, head to BIFF Square, one of the most famous places for street food in the city. Finally, take in the view of the metropolis from a lofty height: from the Busan Tower, 120 metres above the ground, you have a beautiful view over the skyscrapers of Busan and the coastline.
A driver will be waiting for you at the hotel after breakfast and will take you to the railway station. You take the train back to Seoul in first class. There you will be met again and driven to the familiar Lotte Hotel.

Your tour guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel at around 09:00 - the tour will take place by public transport today. The first stop is Gyeongbokgung Palace. Built in 1395, the Palace of Happiness was once the royal palace in the Joseon Dynasty and has been continuously added to and restored over the last 200 years. It is considered the symbol of Korea and represents its national sovereignty.
Your route then takes you to Insadong in the heart of the city. As you stroll through the alleyways, you will see galleries, traditional restaurants, teahouses and cafés. Bukchon Hanok Village is a collection of hundreds of traditional houses that now serve as cultural centres, guesthouses, restaurants and teahouses. Here you will get another good impression of Korean culture. Finally, walk along the Cheonggye River to the modern Dongdaemun Design Palaza.

German nationals do not require a visa to enter the Republic of Korea (South Korea) as long as the duration of your trip does not exceed 90 days and you can provide proof of your onward or return journey. Further information can be found on the homepage of the Federal Foreign Office.
The weather in South Korea varies greatly depending on the region. The climate is similar to that of Germany and has four seasons. The months of April to June in spring and September to November in autumn are best suited for a round trip through South Korea.
There are no vaccination requirements for direct entry from Germany. The Federal Foreign Office recommends the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute for children and adults (see: www.rki.de) when travelling and complete them if necessary.
