Impressions
La musica - Italy's moving soul
Ravello - Enjoying music in Campania
The Ravello Festival is closely associated with Richard Wagner and takes place every year in the summer months high above the Amalfi Coast in Villa Rufolo. The stage, which is located on a rocky outcrop 15 metres above the ground as if on a cloud in the sky, lends the events a very special magic. Up here, you feel like you are between heaven and earth and forget the world with a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Salerno.
Our tip: Concert at sunrise - the awakening of the day and the senses accompanied by the most beautiful classical music.
Every moment, as if painted...
The Marche region: beauty wherever you look
The Marche region, idyllically situated between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines in central Italy, is balm for the eyes. Beauty is at home here. Just like Raphael, the world-famous painting genius whose 500th anniversary of death was honoured in 2020. He came from Urbino, whose rural surroundings characterised his early work with intimate expression and inspired him throughout his life.
Our tip: Compare the picturesque Marche region with the striking ambience of Raphael's landscapes.
Heavenly moments of relaxation
The Aosta Valley, for us the highest of feelings
Higher and lower at the same time, this duality is what the Aosta Valley offers you. Experience national parks such as the Gran Paradiso, whose name sounds like an alpine Garden of Eden. Monte Bianco, the highest mountain in Europe, stands right on the border with France. Find deep relaxation here while enjoying high-quality wellness offers in a breathtaking setting with panoramic views.
Our tip: Let yourself be touched by the mountain peaks of the high Alps and the pampering touch of exclusive spas. For example at the Pré-Saint-Didier thermal spa.
The aroma of fresh espresso
Friuli-Venezia Giulia - following your nose
When you think of Italy, the coffee culture of "espresso, cappuccino and co." quickly springs to mind - and to the nose. One of the best destinations to enjoy the fragrant roasted notes and coffee vapours full of sensuality is the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in the north-east of the country. Trieste is home to the University of Coffee.
Our tip: In Trieste you should enjoy coffee culture at its finest, whether in a small café by the harbour, in the Coffee University or in one of the excellent Michelin-starred restaurants.
La Cucina Italiana - enchanting flavours
Sicily - home of street food.
Sicily's cuisine is as diverse as its culture. Here, the traditions of the Greeks, Spaniards, Arabs and Normans and, of course, Italians from all regions have merged their special preparations and flavours over the centuries to create a very special cuisine with a "Sicilian touch".
Our tip: Stroll through the streets and alleyways of Sicily and discover a Mediterranean flavour spectacle.
