"A trip to Holetown is particularly worthwhile in February, when the Holetown Festival celebrates the anniversary of the first English settlement on 17 February 1627. The week-long celebration takes place every year in mid-February and includes a colourful parade, markets, food stalls and much more. The Sandpiper is located on the northern outskirts of Holetown, the centre of tourism on the upmarket west coast of Barbados. The chic Limegrove shopping centre is only a five-minute walk away, and there is a wide selection of restaurants and bars in the nearby side streets. The hotel is located behind an attractive sandy cove between rocky breakwaters. The seafront here is quite lively, with many people walking along the interconnected beaches and promenades on either side of the property, and the sea is full of boats and water sports enthusiasts.

Spa
You use the spa at the Coral Reef Club (incl. free transfers). The Coral Reef Barbados Spa is located in a beautiful colonial-inspired building with clean, modern lines set in a tropical garden paradise. Exotic vegetation and waterfalls permeate the entire spa, from the four multi-purpose treatment rooms, each with its own terrace and garden for foot rituals, to the outdoor couples' pavilion. The setting is characterised by unparalleled natural beauty and tranquillity. Facilities include a luxurious relaxation room with open sides, an outdoor hydro pool with shaded cabanas for post-treatment relaxation, a thermal suite with a tranquil crystal steam room and experience shower, and a spa lounge to unwind in. A chic manicure and pedicure room offers breathtaking views over the property's treetops.
Activities
Facilities include two swimming pools - one of which is a sophisticated-looking designer pool with sun loungers that are half-submerged in the water - a water sports centre, a gym and two tennis courts.
The Sandpiper's restaurant is located in the middle of the gardens in an open wooden structure with lanterns hanging from the rafters. There is a romantic atmosphere in the evenings and live music most nights. The food is excellent - some of the best you'll find in a hotel on the island. There is also homemade bread and many Caribbean-Bajan dishes such as curries and steamed flying fish.
With freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade smoothies, an overwhelming selection of fruit and a wide range of prepared treats (cinnamon toast, pancakes, waffles), breakfast is outstanding. During the day, the focus is on Harold's Beach Bar and the adjoining terrace, where you can enjoy local dishes such as Flying Fish Cutters (sandwiches) as well as salads, pasta and pizza. You can also pick a coconut, bring it to the bar and have it opened.
Two-storey buildings with large balconies and terraces are spread out in the lush garden. The ambience: a mixture of English country house and Caribbean with cheerful patterns and lots of rattan.
In the Garden View Rooms can accommodate two people and have a balcony or terrace. The Suites with one or two bedrooms have a separate living room with kitchenette and a sofa that can also be used as a bed.
Curlew is the most sought-after Tree Top Suite of the Sandpiper and probably the most outstanding in Barbados. The view from the spacious terrace right by the sea and the personal plunge pool is breathtaking. The interior design is very modern and the terrace is equipped with lounge seating, a wet bar and a dining area for six people. This elegant suite has a spacious living room, a bedroom, a dressing room and a luxurious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and a separate bathtub, which is air-conditioned throughout.
The Tree Top Suites Whimbrel and Sanderling are characterised by dark wood and light fabrics. They each consist of a bedroom, a spacious living room, a dressing area and a luxurious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and separate bathtub; all are air-conditioned. There is a large covered terrace with wet bar and complimentary appetiser bar (selection of spirits and soft drinks). There is also an open sun terrace with a plunge pool. In the living room there is a media centre for television, films and music. These suites both have sea views and can accommodate two adults. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted.
"Whimbrel" has a king-size four-poster bed and "Sanderling" can be converted from a king-size bed into two single beds if required.
Each of the two Beach House Suites with sea view has a large covered terrace with a wet bar and sun deck. There is a separate living room with sofa bed and media centre for TV, movies and music, a bedroom with king size bed, dressing area and bathroom. These suites are beautifully designed and connected by a common entrance hall and a movable wall on the terrace.
They can also be connected to the Tree Top Suite 'Curlew' to form a three bedroom villa. Each Beach House Suite sleeps three people or two adults and two children under the age of 12.
German citizens do not require a visa for a single entry and a stay of up to 60 days, but do require a passport that must be valid for at least six months at the time of entry.
The Caribbean weather is mostly sunny with possible rain showers in the afternoon.
The average temperature is a maximum of 32°C in August and 18°C early in the morning in winter.
The temperature difference between summer and winter is a maximum of 10°C, with the exception of
of the mountain regions.
No proof of vaccination is required for direct entry from Germany. However, the Federal Foreign Office recommends checking the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute and completing them if necessary.
