"My favourite highlights: Santorini with its famous sunsets, sugar cube villages and the historical site of Akrotiri. Of course Mykonos, the queen of the Aegean, and Delos, the sacred island of Apollo, a breathtaking open-air museum and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Very little known is Hydra, a truly authentic, tranquil island. Crete, the largest and most diverse island in Greece.".
Embarkation at the Zea marina in Athens, between 14-15 hrs. Enjoy a welcome drink and get to know your crew and fellow travellers. Departure via Cape Sounion to Kea. Free time to discover Kea's harbour Coressia. Departure in the early hours of the morning for Delos. Overnight stay at sea.
In the morning, optional excursion to the unique archaeological site of Delos, the holiest island of antiquity. Continue to the harbour of Mykonos, with a swim stop en route. Free afternoon and evening to enjoy the cosmopolitan life of the island. Overnight stay in Mykonos.
Depart early in the morning and arrive in Santorini at midday (anchorage in Fira). Experience the breathtaking natural spectacle of the volcanic caldera. Optional tour to archaeological sites and typical villages with unique views of the Aegean Sea. Overnight onward journey to Crete.
Greek night on Santorini
Our Greek dinner is followed by the famous and popular Greek night on board. Greek dance is a very old tradition, already mentioned by authors such as Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch and Lucian, and is practised in different styles and interpretations on all the islands and the surrounding mainland. Each region has developed its own choreography and style to suit its own way of life. The dances of the islands, for example, have a completely different, flowing style. Let yourself be seduced and follow the rhythm!
Morning arrival in Crete's famous and lively harbour of Rethymnon. Optional excursion to the ancient city of Knossos near Heraklion. Late departure to Kythira. Overnight stay at sea.
Late morning swim stop and afternoon arrival in Kythira, a lesser-known island gem and favourite off the beaten track. The evening is free to explore the picturesque main town of Chora and experience the authentic charm of this peaceful island. Overnight stay in Kythira.
Kythira is a Greek island that historically belongs to the Ionian Islands. It lies opposite the eastern tip of the Peloponnese peninsula. In ancient Greek mythology, Kythira was considered the island of the heavenly Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
Early morning drive to Monemvasia. Discover a remarkable medieval fortress town, with time at leisure to explore the uniquely preserved Byzantine and Venetian architecture and enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. Departure for Nafplion in the early afternoon, with a swimming stop on the way. Arrival in Nafplion in the evening. The old town is charming, with narrow streets and characteristic period architecture. You can also visit impressive medieval fortifications in the harbour and on the hills above. Overnight stay in Nafplion.
Optional excursion to Mycenae, the mighty walled palace of Agamemnon, the Homeric king of the Achaean kings. Early afternoon departure to the island of Hydra, one of the most unspoilt and interesting islands along the route. It is a small rocky island in the Argosaronic Gulf, south-east of the Athens harbour of Piraeus and within sight of the southern Peloponnese. The entire island is a protected monument and has thus retained all its charm and originality from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Free time to explore the picturesque harbour town. Farewell dinner with the captain. After midnight arrival at Marina Zea, Athens.
