You will go to lofty heights and visit "Sky Costanera", the highest viewing platform in South America. It is located on the 61st and 62nd floors of what is currently the tallest building in South America and offers a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the city, which extends up to 50 kilometres into the surrounding countryside in good weather. From Puerto Montt, follow Route 7 towards Caleta La Arena, where you can board the first ferry that will take you to Caleta Puelche.
From Caleta Puelche, head south to Hornopirén, where you can board one of the ferries. It is important to book the Hornopirén-Leptepu and Fiordo Largo-Caleta Gonzalo routes in advance.
The tour starts in Hornopirén - about 3 hours and 45 minutes from Puerto Montt - where you will drive about 3 hours and 30 minutes to Leptepu. From there, the journey continues by land for 15 minutes until you arrive at Fiordo Largo, the starting point for the last stretch by sea to Caleta Gonzalo, which takes 45 minutes.

If you didn't make it to Pumalin National Park the day before, it's worth making an excursion in the morning. The park is located in Chaiten, about 30 minutes from Hotel Yelcho.
Travelling south on the famous Carretera Austral. The rustic gravel track penetrates deep into the unspoilt wilderness and leads along the turquoise blue Rio Frio, glacier-covered mountain massifs, dreamy lakes and picturesque waterfalls. Take your car to Queulat National Park (approx. 30 km from the Junta). In the morning, you can go on a hike to the hanging glacier Ventisquero Colgante in Queulat National Park.
Queulat National Park: the entrance tickets for the national park are not included. These must be paid for on site.
The Quelat Park has three sectors.
1) The first is Angostura, 7.5 miles north of Puyuhuapi, where you will find a park ranger's house and access to the Laguna Los Pumas Trail.
2 The second and most visited sector is the Ventisquero sector, located 12 miles south of Puyuhuapi, behind the Ventisquero bridge.
3) The third sector is the Portezuelo sector, 32 miles south of Puyuhuapi, behind the curves that wind up to the pass.
You need to choose the highlight you want to see carefully, as you won't have enough time for everything listed here.
The "Ventisquero Colgante" or hanging glacier is the highlight of the park. Cross the Ventisquero footbridge. Visit the Los Témpanos and Los Pumas lagoons. In summer, you can also explore Los Témpanos by boat. Visit the Padre García waterfall, which is around 100 feet high. Explore Lake Risopatrón, which is located near Puyuhuapi, along the route. Enjoy the 33 bends of the Queulat slope, which winds its way up to the pass.
On the onward journey to Coyhaique, you will be accompanied by lush, wild vegetation. Ferns, dense forests, fjords and snow-capped peaks form a fabulous primeval landscape. After crossing a pass, the landscape changes and gives way to the rugged southern Patagonian mountain landscape. (approx. 250 km; approx. 6 hours).

Today's journey takes you into an increasingly barren steppe landscape and you cross a valley full of dead trees and vast swamps. The turquoise-coloured water of the huge Lago General Carrera shines from afar, framed by shimmering reddish hills, massive ice fields and an often bright blue sky. On the way, you have the opportunity to visit the Exploradores glacier and enjoy impressive views of various glaciers, foothills of the huge San Valentin ice field.

These days are free for hikes and trips through the national park. Go on various excursions every day that are included in the all-inclusive offers or go on your own tour.
The excursions are organised in small groups with multilingual guides (also German-speaking): Horse riding, kayaking, hiking, biking, wildlife watching, boat trips, fishing. Your destination is Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in Chile. On the way, you will visit the nearby Milodon Cave. You should also make a stop in the small town of Puerto Natales, located directly on the Ultima Esperanza fjord. Return the hire car at the airport or at the city office.

The still young MS Ventus Australis (built in 2017) is a modern cruise ship designed for navigating the Patagonian channels.
Ventus Australis is the youngest ship in the Australis fleet.
The older sister ship is Stella Australis, built in 2010.
On board, the design in each of the cabins is sporty, sober and yet elegant; all cabins are outside cabins. The nature experiences and the partly completely undeveloped regions are the focus of the journey.
The communal areas such as the lounges and the open deck are spacious and offer spectacular views.
The cruise ship offers you a spacious cabin with comfortable beds, ample storage space for all your luggage and several cosy lounge areas on the various decks of the ship.
The ship Ventus Australis has a modern design and, in addition to 100 cabins on 5 decks for 200 passengers, also has communal areas, lounges and an open deck. You can enjoy a magnificent view from everywhere.
Cabin
The cabins on board the MS Ventus Australis are all outside cabins, which means that each one has a window from which you can look directly out to sea and are equipped with comfortable single or double beds and seating.
The size of the cabins varies between 16.5 and 20.5 square metres. The ship has 100 cabins spread over 5 decks. All cabins are decorated in maritime colours and have a large window and a private bathroom with shower and WC.
The superior outside cabin is particularly luxurious with a floor-to-ceiling panoramic window from which you can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery even more.

Gastronomy
Treat yourself to Patagonian specialities in the restaurant. A buffet awaits you for breakfast and lunch. In the evening you will be served a 4-course menu, where you can choose between 2 options.

Activities & Entertainment
In the evenings, lectures are given on the day's itinerary and the next day's programme, as well as on culture and nature.
In the 2 lounges you can enjoy the spectacular view with a cocktail in your hand and relax after the exciting excursions with the Zodiacs.
Glaciers and the unique flora and fauna can be experienced up close on the journey through the canals and fjords as well as during the shore excursions.

This beautiful Belle Époque-style city palace with adjoining modern tower is located in the elegant Recoleta district, right on Avenida Alvear in the heart of the city and is surrounded by cafés, boutiques and attractive architecture. The Teatro Colón, the museums and the famous Recoleta cemetery are also just a few steps away from the hotel. The hotel's peaceful garden is particularly relaxing in the middle of the vibrant metropolis.

From your spacious Tower room with 40 to 55 m² of living space, you can enjoy an outstanding view of green gardens, beautiful palaces or the bustling streets of the capital. The state-of-the-art facilities include a king-size bed, a large desk and a luxurious bathroom with bidet, bathtub and walk-in rain shower. Other amenities include butler service, in-room coffee and high-speed WiFi.

Relax in the 750 square metre spa or swim a few lengths in the 25 metre indoor pool. Want to be even more active? Then head to the in-house fitness centre with state-of-the-art cardio training equipment. Then treat yourself to a soothing massage in one of the individual treatment rooms with natural light and finish off by relaxing in the sauna.
German citizens require a passport to enter Argentina. It is recommended that it is valid beyond the duration of the planned stay. A visa is not required for entry as a tourist for stays of up to 90 days. The same entry requirements apply to Chile with one difference: the passport must be valid for at least six months upon entry.
Although Argentina is a yellow fever-endemic country, vaccination is only recommended for forested areas below 2,300 metres above sea level on the border with Brazil and Paraguay in the north and north-east of the country. No vaccination is required for travelling to Buenos Aires and Patagonia. There are no vaccination requirements for Chile. For both countries, however, the Federal Foreign Office recommends that the standard vaccinations according to the current vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute ( http://www.rki.de ) for children and adults on the occasion of a trip.
The Chilean part of Patagonia has a rather cool and humid climate, characterised by the western Andes and the Valdivian rainforest. The Argentinian part, on the other hand, is very dry and windy. The climate on Tierra del Fuego is very different: while heavy rain in the west allows a temperate rainforest to thrive, the persistent drought in the east of the island creates a semi-desert.
