After breakfast, continue from Rabat inland to the old royal city of Fès. The journey first takes you to the royal city of Meknès: massive city walls and magnificent gates such as the Bab el Mansour, the burial mosque of Moulay Ismael and the granaries bear witness to its former importance. The souks of Meknès are among the most authentic in the country. For lunch, you will stop at the Palais Didi Meknes. You then continue to the ancient Roman settlement of Volubilis. Here, the floor mosaics are particularly well preserved amidst the ruins.

While Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca and Tangier are undoubtedly the most popular tourist destinations in Morocco, the insider tip of Chefchaouen is a more remote but very trendy destination that also offers a very special experience. Here you can get a sense of what Moroccan culture feels like with less excitement and more tranquillity than in other cities, but the main feature of the city is undoubtedly the blue-washed walls and buildings that make this charming Moroccan city a destination for trendsetters.
There are many different theories about the history behind these distinctive blue colours. The locals say that the hues help to ward off the evil eye and, as the colour of the sky, also bring people closer to God. Regardless of the reason, the blue colours of Chefchaouen add character and beauty like no other city in the world.
Although Chefchaouen has a small population of less than 43,000 inhabitants, the city centre is full of locals and visitors like you, shopping for quality goods, enjoying the delicious Moroccan cuisine and simply strolling through the city in amazement.
During the morning, you will learn the secrets of Moroccan cookery at a cookery course. In the afternoon, you will get to know the country's traditional crafts up close and make your own handmade items such as fez embroidery, babouches or traditional Moroccan drums - ideal as a souvenir.
From Fez, you cross the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley with its forests of mighty, fragrant cedars. After a lunch break in Erfoud, the journey in an off-road vehicle takes you across vast stony deserts, behind which the famous sand dunes of Merzouga slowly come into view. If you wish, you can change your means of transport again here. A dromedary awaits you for another adventure through the spectacular silence of the endless sea of dunes. You ride through the sunset to the highest dunes of Erg Chebbi - the waves of sand glow from orange to deep red in the last light of the day. The climate ranges from Mediterranean on the north coast and Atlantic on the west coast to desert climate in the interior. Flooding can occur during the rainy season from November to March, particularly in the high Atlas Mountains.
