Galapagos - So close to evolution

Exclusive charter, small group trip with a zoologist to Galapagos

A moment ago, you were sleeping in your comfortable cabin and letting the Pacific waves rock you to a gentle groove. And now, a short time later, you feel like you are travelling back to the prehistoric times of our planet. At your feet, small "dinosaurs" with impressive crests made of horn cones relax in the sun. It's a good thing that a zoo director is on the journey with you and explains: the iguana with the "punk hairstyle" is also known as the Drusenkopf and is just one of many examples of this laboratory of evolution.

Go on a tour with Dr Thomas Kauffels, Director of the Opel Zoo in Kronberg (Taunus) of the renowned Opel Hessian Zoo Foundation and Chairman of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA). He brings you closer to the wonders of the archipelago, while they are virtually within your grasp just an arm's length away. Wander among nesting blue-footed boobies, experience giant tortoises, marine iguanas, frigate birds, Galapagos penguins and land iguanas. Or share a few private moments with relaxed sea lions in a quiet corner of a white sandy beach.

With the first view from the panoramic windows of your cabin, the day begins at dawn over the deep blue Pacific. The stress of everyday life fades and disappears with each passing moment. You have arrived: Your Galapagos adventure begins. And your possibilities? Endless and varied. Every day the ocean beckons with its secrets. Go stalking for unique photos of the underwater world. Either in a transparent kayak or on board a glass-bottom boat. Of course, you can also go under the surface yourself. Equipped with mask and fins, dive into the fascinating underwater world: to penguins, green turtles, frolicking sea lions or large shoals of surgeonfish. Get closer to nature in its most pristine form - as is only possible on the Galapagos. Afterwards, the wonders of the Incas in Peru beckon with a visit to Machu Picchu.

Note on the implementation guarantee: If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the cruise will still take place, on board the identical Coral I or II, then together with other guests and not as an exclusive charter.
